At Lacewing Creative, everything I create begins the same way: pen in hand, paper on the desk, and a quiet moment to write something meaningful.

I’m Lara Beeston, and this year I’m doing something a little different for the very first time.

I’m inviting you to be part of The Little Letter Exchange.

Why I’m Starting This

So much of my work is about helping you create beauty and warmth in your home. But before art hangs on a wall or lands on a tea towel, it starts as something much simpler, words written by hand.

And I keep coming back to this thought: when was the last time you received a handwritten letter?

• Not a bill.
• Not a parcel notification.
• An actual letter.

There’s something incredibly special about opening your letterbox and finding an envelope written just for you. It slows you down. It feels personal. It feels considered.

So I thought, why not create a way for us to send that feeling to one another?

What Is The Little Letter Exchange?

It’s beautifully simple.

1. You write a heartfelt letter.
2. You send it to my studio.
3. I forward it on anonymously to someone else taking part.
4. And you’ll receive a little letter back in return.

No personal details are shared.
No awkward introductions.
No pressure to “get it right.”

Just genuine words, written by hand, travelling from one home to another.

How It Works

1. Sign up

There’s a small fee to cover postage and admin from my studio. Once you sign up, I’ll send you all the details, including a few prompts if you’re not sure where to start.

2. Write your letter

It doesn’t have to be long or fancy. You could:

• Share something that always makes you smile
• Write about a place that feels like home
• Tell a story about a small act of kindness
• Include a favourite quote
• Or simply write from the heart

3. Post it to me

I’ll take care of forwarding it on to another participant. Just include your order number on the back of the envelope so everything runs smoothly. Send it to me in time to arrive by the 20th of March.

4. Keep an eye on your letterbox

At some point, a handwritten envelope with your name on it will arrive — and I can’t wait for you to experience that moment.

A Gentle Reminder

You don’t need perfect handwriting.
You don’t need to be poetic.
You don’t need the “right” words.

You just need sincerity.
